Just finished "Peaceful Pear"!

I feel it is a moment of celebration as this is the first piece I've been able to bring to completion since school started. It started off as a demo of how to use fusible webbing during a workshop and I'm very pleased at how it "shaped" up.I've always loved the subtle shape and color of pears, but it wasn't the right time for a still life. I wanted something a little more lively. It may end up with beads on the background leaves...we'll see.

Here is a close up in case you can't zoom. Still mastering the art of blogger. :)
The piece is approx 9 1/2" by 11".

The pear is fusible webbed and everything is machine appliqued, but it wouldn't be complete without the hand work. One by one I'm knocking out the little pieces while working on the larger ones too! On to the next one!
