Sending pieces out into the world

I'll be delivering this piece to its new home later today, having been purchased at the arts reception at O2 Heaven. It was created with the idea of always being able to find peace in the midst of unrest and chaos. The feeling of being one with everything and knowing that no matter what happens it is meant to happen -is what we all can hope for.

"A Sense of Being: Meditative Series"

Another piece that was sold that evening is shown below. I hope the new owner enjoys it! It is one of the mini quilts I created when I first began stitching. I look at them as "pocket pieces" and enjoy them very much.  This artwork is very different from the pieces I typically create as it isn't infused with bright colors. I'm usually drawn to bright colors and more whimsical subject matter.

"Night"

These small pieces really need frames when sold, which goes against my grain of thinking that art quilts are meant to be touched and felt. After working with the fabrics, paints, threads and beads it is difficult to take a "living" artwork and put it under glass.
Today I'll be finishing up the edging on Voo Doo Kitty. There are a few things left that I'd like to add by hand. I'm hoping to have that piece done by the end of this week!
